Letters written by White, with a few by his brother, Edward T., to his cousin, Mariett L. Harmon, in Oxford, Ohio. They contain information on social events in St. Paul, Minnesota (1855-1864), including masquerades, skating, parties, and picnics; efforts to raise money for a bridge over the Mississippi River (1856); the Winnebago Agency in Blue Earth County (1860); a steamboat excursion from La Crosse, Wisconsin, to St. Anthony (1860); St. Paul politics; the state fair (1860); and Fourth of July observances (1861).
